hololive OFFICIAL CARD GAME (hOCG / English edition hOCGe) - market guide, as of Oct 2026
Tags: OFFICIAL = from official/publisher page; OBSERVED = seen on a retailer or third-party page (date not always shown); UNVERIFIED = secondary/derived or unclear. Research was ~14 web calls; official product pages did not expose prices, so most USD figures are OBSERVED retailer listings, not MSRP. No numbers invented; gaps listed.
1. How to play
Source: official beginners page and rule book (en.hololive-official-cardgame.com/beginners/, official_rule_book_ver101.pdf; the rule book PDF itself was only seen via search snippet, not read in full).
- Theme: players produce the best stage with their Oshi holomem and other holomem, sending Cheer to reach the top of the "hololive Exstreamer Cup". (OFFICIAL)
- Main Deck: 50 cards, holomem and support cards only; up to 4 copies of the same card number (some cards allow more). Holomem of colors different from the Oshi may be included. (OFFICIAL)
- Cheer Deck: separate 20-card deck of Cheer cards only; colors may be mixed; any number of identical Cheer cards up to the 20 total. (OFFICIAL)
- Oshi holomem: one special card, not in the deck, stays on the stage the whole game; provides an Oshi Skill plus a stronger SP Oshi Skill usable once per game. (OFFICIAL)
- Life: at setup, place face down from the top of the Cheer Deck a number of cards equal to the Life value printed on the Oshi card. (OFFICIAL)
- Holomem are placed from hand to Collab and Back positions on the stage (search snippet says up to 5 holomem from hand in the Main step; this figure is from a search snippet, treat as UNVERIFIED detail).
- Turn has 6 steps: Reset, Draw, Cheer, Main, Performance, End. (OFFICIAL)
- Reset: activate/rest Collab holomem. Draw: take 1 card. Cheer: take the top Cheer Deck card and attach it to one of your holomem. (search snippet of the rule book; UNVERIFIED wording)
- Main step: play holomem and support cards, use skills. Performance step: holomem attack using attached Cheer. (Performance not detailed in the fetched text; the fetch noted no explicit bloom rules, so Bloom/level-up mechanics are a GAP here.)
- Win condition 1: reduce the opponent's Life to zero. (OFFICIAL)
- Win condition 2: all of the opponent's holomem other than the Oshi are removed from the stage. (OFFICIAL)
- Win condition 3: the opponent cannot draw at the start of their turn because the deck is empty. (OFFICIAL)
- Cheer cards double as Life, so damage to Life feeds back as Cheer resources (inference from the Life setup rule above).
- Entry products: Start Deck (ready-to-play 50 + 20 cards) and the Start Cheer set (84 fixed cards, 4 Oshi + 80 Cheer, per Japanese launch article, OBSERVED) for deck building.
- Quick manual PDF: en.hololive-official-cardgame.com/wp-content/uploads/2025/07/quick_manual.pdf (not read in full).
2. Languages available
- Japanese edition: launched Sep 20, 2024. (OBSERVED, inside-games.jp)
- English edition (hOCGe): launched Jul 11, 2025, publisher/distributor Bushiroad with COVER as developer/creator; primary market North America at announcement. (OFFICIAL, hololivepro.com / en.bushiroad.com / TCGplayer seller blog)
- The official site homepage lists English edition only for the EN site; there is a separate Japanese site (hololive-official-cardgame.com). Other languages (Chinese, Korean, Thai, etc.): found no reliable source of official non-EN/JP card print runs; GAP. Note: retailer pages (japan-figure.com) are translated storefront text, not game editions.
3. Pricing
Japan launch (Sep 2024), JPY, OBSERVED (inside-games.jp article, matches official Japanese shop listing):
- Start Deck Tokino Sora & AZKi: JPY 1,980 (50 main + 20 cheer + 2 Oshi + accessories)
- Booster pack Blooming Radiance (8 cards): JPY 440
- Booster box (12 packs): JPY 5,280
- Start Cheer set: JPY 990 (84 cards)
- Later Start Decks (Feb 2025: White Todoroki Hajime / Green Kazama Iroha / Yellow Shiranui Flare): JPY 990 each incl. tax (OBSERVED, premium.gamepedia.jp snippet). Note: this suggests later decks were cheaper than the first; the source is a search snippet, UNVERIFIED. Box size: 12 packs x 8 cards = 96 cards (OFFICIAL, TCGplayer seller blog and pokeboxusa listing). Summer Hologram EN extra booster is listed as 10 packs per box (OBSERVED, TCG Corner), so box size is not uniform. English official MSRP in USD: not found on any official page fetched (the announcement pages say pricing not disclosed). GAP. UNVERIFIED conversions from a search result: EN start deck ~USD 24.99 "on secondary markets"; JPY 440 pack ~USD 2.96. EN street prices 2026 (OBSERVED, TCG Corner retailer, USD per box, snippet, date seen Oct 2026):
- Blooming Radiance hBP01e (Jul 2025): $655.96 (sold out)
- Elite Spark hBP03e (Dec 2025): $769.28 (sold out)
- Summer Hologram hEB01e (Sep 25, 2026): $589.74 pre-order
- Bouncer Bound hBP08e (Jan 29, 2027): $639.28 pre-order
- Another listing says Blooming Radiance box $660.00 (OBSERVED, search snippet).
- Pokeboxusa listing Enchant Regalia box shows "$64.99" but is sold out and that figure is implausible for a 12-pack box next to the above; likely a per-pack/unit or error (UNVERIFIED, do not use). Implication (inference): English boxes trade at roughly 100x the JPY 5,280 JP box price in USD terms, i.e. about USD 590-770 vs ~USD 35 at JPY 5,280; that is a very large premium, or the EN boxes are priced per case/at scarcity. Treat as high sealed-product scarcity in EN; confirm with TCGplayer market price before use.
4. Rarity tiers
Rarities (torecamap.co.jp column, 14 types; OBSERVED/secondary): Base: OSR (Oshi holomem Super Rare), RR, R, U, C; OC (Oshi common, start decks); Parallel: SEC (secret), OUR, HR (holomem rare, new from Enchant Regalia), UR, SY (special cheer), SR, S (special); P (promo). Symbols are bottom-right; pushed OSR/OC symbol bottom-left. Curious Universe set composition lists normal OSR, RR, R, U, C and parallel SEC, OUR, UR, SY, SR, S (OBSERVED, nobleknight). Community pull-rate estimates (UNVERIFIED; official site does not publish): SEC ~1 per 48 boxes, OUR ~1 per 24 boxes, HR/UR 1-2 per 12 boxes, SR 1-2 per box, RR ~4 per box. Set composition example, hBP07 Diva Fever: 125 base types: OSR 7, RR 12, R 26, U 31, C 49 (OBSERVED, japan-figure.com). Enchant Regalia: 108 normal types, parallels 123 including SEC 5, HR 6 (OBSERVED, pokeboxusa). Typical per-tier price ranges: not found for C/U/R/RR/SR; GAP (no price-guide source retrieved). Chase cards (OBSERVED, japan-figure.com, hBP07 Diva Fever, USD, SEC foil and signed): AZKi ~$1,743.53; Ookami Mio ~$1,477.50; Vestia Zeta ~$705.89; Momosuzu Nene ~$666.67. These are retailer asking prices for a Japanese-set card, not sold prices.
5. How players and collectors use it
- Deck recipes: official site has card list and deck recipes (OFFICIAL homepage). Decklog is used for deck codes; a Tabletop Simulator Workshop mod imports decks via decklog link (OBSERVED, Steam page).
- Collection/price: cardhuntershq.com (free tracker, 26 sets/1,970 cards, 40 sources) (OBSERVED); TCGplayer marketplace (since Jul 11, 2025). Japanese price: SNKRDUNK, torecamap.
- Retail: TCG Corner, pokeboxusa, Kolsters, Games Corner (AU), Event Horizon Hobbies, Noble Knight (OBSERVED).
- Specific apps (e.g. holoDelta): not confirmed by search; GAP.
6. Community behavior
- Discord server dedicated to hOCG covering EN and JP editions and translations (OBSERVED, discordhunt listing).
- Fandom is VTuber-driven: cards are valued by talent (Oshi) as much as play power; signed-foil SECs of popular talents carry the highest asking prices (inference from section 4).
- Sold-out status of early EN boxes and high box prices indicate scarcity (inference). Scalping and reddit sentiment: no reliable source retrieved; GAP.
- Events: Anime NYC 2026 attendance (announced Jul 10, 2026) and Singapore festival (OFFICIAL homepage news).
7. Company strategy
- Structure: COVER Corporation (hololive production) creates/develops; Bushiroad operates and distributes the English edition (OFFICIAL, hololivepro.com announcement dated Feb 2025). Note: some outlets say "published by Bushiroad"; roles differ by source.
- Distribution: specialty TCG shops, stationery retailers, online marketplaces, hololive production OFFICIAL SHOP; TCGplayer listing support from Jul 2025 (OFFICIAL).
- Organised play: official tournaments and exhibitions promised at EN announcement; product-wise, Start Decks (Live Start Deck series SD14E-SD19E, Oct 23, 2026: Subaru, Calliope, Suisei, Miko, Raden, Fubuki per official products page).
- Singapore: Bushiroad Card Game Festival Singapore, Aug 1-2, 2026, Suntec Singapore Halls 405-406, featuring hOCG with Vanguard, Weiss Schwarz, Shadowverse: Evolve, Palworld OCG; second time in Singapore (OBSERVED, littlebigreddot.com). The official site also posted a Singapore Card Game Festival notice dated Jul 31, 2026 (OFFICIAL, homepage summary).
- Southeast Asia presence: confirmed only via the Singapore festival; no SEA-specific edition or distributor found; GAP.
